Pay Range The pay range for this role is $24.00-$30.00 per hour. Compensation is based on your unique qualifications and experience.

Job Summary Supports the Finance, Human Resources, and Executive teams throughout the fiscal year.
Under the direction of the Controller, the Payroll Processor is responsible for managing and utilizing the platform provided by the outside Payroll Service Provider to pay employees. This includes analysis of timekeeping data, PTO, wages, taxes, benefits, deductions, and other items that affect employee pay. The Payroll Processor is responsible for remitting certain internal payables related to payroll not covered under the service agreement with Payroll Service Provider as well as reconciling the internal records with the vendors providing benefit, garnishment and other payroll-related services. The Payroll Processor ensures the Payroll Service Provider system is accurate, complete and consistent with the data provided by the Human Resources and/or Finance Departments and supports all efforts to be compliant, transparent, and accurate.
Responsibilities and Duties Payroll Processing: - Manages approval process related to employee timekeeping and its effect on payroll process
- Manages payroll process schedule and communication across departments
- Manages the review and posting process of each payroll run
- Manages payments of any required internal payable related to payroll process
- Manages internal files related to payroll process
- Supports the posting of payroll process to general ledger
- Supports employee and employer requests related to changes in payroll process data base
Oversees the Payroll Lifecycle - Manages quarterly review process related to payroll system tax filings
- Manages communication with payroll system related to tax rate changes
- Manages distribution of annual employee tax forms
- Manages reconciliations between outside vendors and internal records related to benefits, garnishments, and other payroll-related deductions
Provides Support to the Finance and Human Resources Departments - Supports Finance Department in maintaining accurate job cost codes in payroll system
- Supports HR Department with communication between payroll system and outside agencies
- Supports Finance Department related to Worker's Compensation tracking and auditing
- Supports Finance Department with annual tax form reconciliations
- Supports HR Department during benefits open enrollment periods as directed
Skills and Abilities - Exceptionally detail oriented, organized, and focused on accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Comfortable communicating with employees, outside vendors, and agencies with little direct supervision.
- Retain a thorough knowledge of payroll systems, process, and compliance.
- Ability to identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.

Employment Requirements - 5+ years of experience in hands-on payroll processing for 50+ FTE
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to interact with co-workers, clients, and their staff in a respectful and courteous manner.
- Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Experience - Previous experience in web or app-based timekeeping platforms
- Proficiency in construction industry payroll processing or similar industry with job-costing specificity
- Familiarity with DelTek/Computer Ease or similar, modular-based general ledger software platform.
Physical Requirements - Must be able to work in an indoor office environment and an active outdoor construction site environment.
- Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.
- Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions and be exposed to dirt or dust.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment most of the day.
- Must be able to lift and carry 25lbs regularly and 50lbs occasionally.
- Must be able to work for long periods of time in front of a computer
